Designed While Graphic Designer at Anson-Stoner
CHALLENGE
Seacoast Bank’s Sheriff Shootout is an annual event where sheriffs from several Florida counties are invited to get together for a day of friendly competitive target shooting as a way to give back to the police departments. For the 12th annual Sheriff Shootout, we were asked to design shirts to commemorate the event.
RESULTS
Inspired by the look of classic Western film posters, vintage police iconography, and woodcut printing, I decided to create a mix of design directions that incorporated shotguns, targets, gun barrels, police badges, and an old police car. I played around with overlapping colors to play on classic woodcut design posters and incorporated targets and barrels into the letterforms in “Shootout” to create a unique style that would quickly identify with the primary activity of the event they were made to celebrate.
